This year I graduated with a very personal project.
I’m tired to hear the same question where I’m from over and over again. When I answer with "I am from Belgium", it isn’t satisfying enough and as a response I get "But no, where are you really from?". If you would cover my eyes, would you see where I’m from by the look of my nose? If you don’t know my last name, would you hear my origin by the sound of my voice? No.
That’s why I made two books that complement each other. You can form an image by yourself of who I am or where the picture is taken. But when you look at both books, I will deprive you of the image you’ve made of me.
